Tech One Automotive

If I could give 1.5 stars, I would. Overall the staff was very friendly and my initial experience was positive. I brought my 2021 GMC Canyon in for a transmission fluid change. Over the following weeks, the truck began experiencing symptoms consistent with a failing transmission. About a month later, I returned to the shop, and they assured me the transmission was fine and instead pointed to worn engine mounts as the issue. They also suggested my extended warranty likely wouldn’t cover the repair because the mounts weren’t “bad enough.” I declined the repair and took my truck to a GMC dealership for a second opinion. They found debris in the transmission and, after running multiple diagnostic tests, determined that the transmission had failed. It was replaced, and the issues have since gone away. I don’t blame Tech One Automotive for the transmission failing, but I do have an issue with being assured that the transmission was fine when it ultimately was not. The diagnosis left me questioning the competence of their technicians. Friendly staff, but unfortunately I can’t recommend their mechanical work.

I had an appointment for a state inspection to renew my sticker and after speaking to the front desk for check in, not even maybe 20-30 minutes later (despite the office being busy), every thing was done & ready to go ! It happened so fast & was so efficient! They also still offer to do a safety check despite not having to, which was so kind of them. I took a chance on this place after learning the place I went to previously had shut down for good & I am so glad I did ! The waiting room is also very nice & the people I interacted with were very friendly.

I would like to take this time to thank Brian C and the team for once again taking great care of my vehicle. This time I ended up getting some pretty major work done (rack and pinion replacement) amongst a few other things, and my car is driving like new. Brian C made the process smooth and efficient for me. To be transparent, I had a question on the fix at first, and Brian C took the car back in as a priority, took care of it, and got it back to me in a timely manner. He kept his word, and for that he gets nothing but respect from me. I have been using this shop for car maintenance for a while now, and they continue to do great work and stand behind their parts and their fixes. I appreciate you guys, and I'll now be recommending my brother to the shop as well.

Tech One Automotive was great! Their techs are very knowledgable and thorough, their pricing is reasonable and transparent and their customer service is excellent. Extra big shoutout to the front desk gal Carissa! She is so warm, attentive and well-versed on many technical aspects as well. I felt very taken care of by her and also appreciated all of her timely communication. Highly recommend this shop!

Tech One Automotive is absolutely the best auto repair shop I have been to in Austin. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable team that made me feel completely at ease. They diagnosed the issue with my car quickly and explained everything in a clear and straightforward way without any unnecessary upselling. The work was completed on time and the quality was excellent. You can tell that the mechanics here genuinely take pride in their work and care about getting things right. The pricing was fair and transparent with no hidden fees or surprises on the final bill. I also appreciated how clean and well organized the whole shop was. Tech One Automotive has earned a customer for life and I recommend them to anyone looking for honest and reliable car repair in Austin.
